I love summer chores...

Since I've become a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom) this past month we've incorporated daily chores for the boys. I think this is the main reason the R Love isn't as pleased with me being home full-time now, even though he won't admit it. Even though these same chores are the ones that have always been required, I have now just put it into writing and separated it by day. Each kid has their own age-appropriate chores that are spread throughout the week and definitely help me out a lot. The lists are on handy note cards and clipped/magnetic to their whiteboard that has daily reminders and updates. I also use our whiteboard to show Grayson what letters to look for his days of the week clothes (another post). These few small changes have helped give the little loves independence and a sense of responsibility. They know they have to get these done before any summer screen time can occur. We are so blessed that most days don't involve TV time because once the boys get done with their chores, they are wanting to be outside and playing. Even when it's 110 Degrees outside, thank goodness for popsicles! Here are a list of each loves chores and which day. If you notice, yes they are "basic" hygiene steps but I am trying very hard to not "nag" them and that they learn that these items should happen everyday! LOL

These chore lists have seriously been so helpful the past month being home! It's given me leverage on being able to ask them if they've completed their chores and also given them a sense of routine and that they know what is expected of them. Granted, I do add chores in there as fit. Such as having them help mop the floors or if something gets dirty during the week that they help out as needed. It's been so fun to also watch them help each other on their chores to make sure they can both go and play. Summer time is so fun and I am enjoying staying home with them. What kind of chores do you have at your house? Share your tips and tricks below!
