We love Pioneer Day

Image
She's happy as can be celebrating! If you aren't in Utah, July 24 may seem like any other hot day of the summer. If you are in Utah, you are most likely celebrating the very special day known as Pioneer Day. This day is celebrated July 24 and is the statewide holiday in the state of Utah which commemorates the arrival of the Mormon pioneers on July 24, 1847 in the Salt Lake Valley. There are many forms of entertainment that occurs throughout the state such as parades, rodeos, family reunions, and food (my love language, I am sure) ! My folks waiting patiently for the parade with two of our loves My great grandparents are from a small town in Utah known as  Marysvale, Utah  . This wonderful little town has served for many years as my family's reunion spot, fishing spot, escape the heat spot, ATV spot, etc. We are blessed that our Great Grandparents had a beautiful home with gorgeous views of the mountains on all sides. This quaint little town offers a large displa

We love Independence Day!

Image
Every year our small town of Moapa Valley holds wonderful traditions honoring Independence Day. I've lived in Moapa Valley for the past 22 years and I don't think I have missed one year of fun. The valley starts the morning off with a flag raising by local Veterans and the local scout troops. This is such a special and solemn event. Our biggest little love is now in cub scouts and has been able to participate in the flag raising the past couple of years. I love watching him with the veterans and watching him learn from those special individuals that have served this great nation. Thank you to those that served our country that are reading this blog. 💙 He wanted to decorate his trailer too!  Following the flag raising is a {free} community breakfast served and prepared for by the local Moapa Valley Rotary club. This is a special group of individuals who do so much behind the scenes for our valley. I have enjoyed speaking to them on many occasions for 4-H and helping at a

We are PLUM in LOVE

Image
The littlest Love quite enjoyed all of the plums she could get her hands on!  We have lived in our home for 7 years this coming September. Time flies when you are having fun! We planted this tree the year after we moved in and it has grown! I do not have a green thumb at all so the fact that this tree has grown and produced fruit is VERY exciting for me. The past couple of years we've gotten fruit but this year we've got a TON of fruit for this tree! The love kept reminding me that I needed to pick the fruit before the birds got to them first. One beautiful summer morning the kids and I went out and picked the fruit. It took us about an hour to pick all of it. This would have probably gone faster if the loves didn't eat half of them and argue about whose bucket was whose where I put the fruit I picked. Does anyone else's kids argue about the littlest things?!?! I think this particular activity was before coffee, so my patience may have been short. Either way, we go

We Love(?) Chickens...

Image
So for those of you that don't know my middle Love, he is slightly obsessed with chickens. If you can love at anything like he loves his chickens, enjoy it!  We live in the most wonderful neighborhood!  Really all animals but especially those of the feathered kind. It's almost too hilarious since I am deathly afraid of the closest related to a dinosaur feathery friends. I don't know where my despise fear comes from. I remember an incident when I was younger with a rooster that was given to my parents from a neighbor and it scaring us girls so much we were on the back of my parents truck using a purple umbrella to save us. It's funny that I remember the little details like what color the rooster was and the fact that we used a child's purple umbrella to protect us from the dinosaur ferocious bird. I don't even know why we would have an umbrella, it never rains here and I don't even think I own an umbrella today. 😒 Anyway, back to the love. He LOVE

Loving 4-H Horse Club

Image
4-H Friends are the BEST friends to have! Especially when they love horses like he does!  A dear friend of mine is also insane. She's amazingly wonderful and absolutely so bubbly! When you chat with her it is so easy to get excited about life! The greatest part of our friendship? Besides that our kids are about the same age, we live in the same ward/neighborhood, she also loves horses and 4-H! How did I get so lucky?!?! Anyway, I've been harassing asking her to start a 4-H horse club for awhile now. Thankfully she finally took the bait was able to do it 👏 I think that's why she is insane (in a good way)! Our first trail ride! Such a beautiful morning on our horses with friends! I was so excited that she was finally going to start a club and it was around the time that I was thinking of becoming a SAHM so I asked if I could do a horse club with her and she said yes! I am so happy that we have been able to start a club together. Even if we are really using it as a
